The Plaza, located at #1 Main Street is a historical icon for downtown Las Vegas. The Plaza Hotel & Casino is also the gateway to the famous Fremont Street Experience. When the Plaza opened its doors in 1971 it was the largest hotel and casino in the world with over 500 rooms. Over the last 40 years the Plaza has been featured in several motion pictures and influenced the design and shape of Sin City's skyline. The exhibit includes artifacts that span the 45 year history of the Plaza Hotel and its predecessors. Artifacts include casino chips and tokens, ashtrays, matchbooks, postcards, and other items. Part of the exhibit is a 21 minute continuously running video about the history of the Plaza Hotel. .
