The Museum of Gaming History

The Museum of Gaming History is growing and we need your support. The MoGH came to life in 2014 with the showing of exhibits at the El Cortez Hotel and the Mob Museum. We are working on showing several new exhibits in the coming year. The MoGH needs your support to fund these projects. We seek to grow the hobby by expanding interest in Gaming History. 1966 - Las Vegas, NV. Foxy's Casino opens at 2423 Las Vegas Blvd. South, on the Las Vegas Strip.

1979 - Las Vegas, NV. Barbary Coast opens at 3595 Las Vegas Blvd. South, on the Las Vegas Strip.

1999 - Las Vegas, NV. Mandalay Bay opens at 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South, on the site of the old Hacienda Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas. Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is a 43-story luxury hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, owned and operated by MGM Resorts International.

March 3rd

2025 - Monday

1945 - Las Vegas, NV. S. S. Rex Club opens at 128 East Fremont Street, downtown Las Vegas - becomes the Rex Club.

March 5th

2025 - Wednesday

1945 - Las Vegas, NV. Spinning Wheel Casino opens on Las Vegas Strip, closes a few months later.

1947 - Las Vegas, NV. The Trap Casino opens, Las Vegas Strip, closes in less than a year.

March 7th

2025 - Friday

1946 - Reno, NV. The White Horse Bar opened at 6295 South Virginia Street, a bar that offered slots and 21 from 1946-1947, then again from 1956-1957. The gaming closed in April 1957.

1947 - Las Vegas, NV. Big Hat Casino opens, Las Vegas Strip.

2023 - Reno, NV. The Sands Regency Casino becomes the J Resort.
